Players hall, a rewards-based gaming platform, has announced that it has closed Series A funding, raising $10.5 million. It plans to use the funding for further expansion beyond sports games.

Griffin Gaming Partners led the round, which included Comcast Ventures, Samsung Next, Vice Ventures, WndrCo, Sharp Alpha Partners, True Capital, Myles Garrett, Josh Norman and Breanna Stewart. Since its inception, Players Lounge has mainly hosted sports games. Now it plans to expand the sports genre by adding support for Call of Duty, Fortnite and more.

Players’ Lounge has made its mark as a dedicated betting platform for consoles and PC games. Austin Woolridge, one of the platform’s co-founders, told GamesBeat in an interview: “Our vision is to give players — all players, regardless of skill level — the ability to earn and win by playing their favorite triple-A game. Video games.”

As part of the next phase of its expansion, the Players Lounge includes all players. It will offer players their own challenges to match their skill level, players can earn rewards if they complete these challenges. Woolridge also added that the company plans to launch a mobile app in Q3 2022. Woolridge added: “Instead of playing head-to-head against other players, the new app allows you to earn money casually by lobbying. You have no idea that you have money… the sheer difficulty of making money, simple as that.”
