|

Alibaba Established a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) business called Lingyang Intelligent Service Company.

Lingyang will offer enterprise solutions originally developed for Alibaba.

“The opening of the new firm is an important step taken by Alibaba after a long period of consideration,” said Daniel Zhang, chairman and CEO of Alibaba.

The team behind Lingyang has extensive experience supporting Alibaba Double 11 large data display and 88VIP initiatives. Team members have supported digital intelligence projects at enterprises such as XPeng Motors, LVMH, Hangzhou Robam Appliances, Haidilao, and Doosan.

Lingyang will have five main products: Analysis Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Customer Service Cloud, Development Cloud, and Production and Sales Cloud.

11 core products such as Dataphin, Quick BI, Bizphin, Quick Audience and Operation Advisor are initially launched along these lines.

According to Cheng Li, CTO of Alibaba, Linyang will help enterprises make efficient decisions and promote growth through data intelligence in multi-platform operations.

With more than one billion users worldwide, Alibaba has a lot of data for Linyang to use.

Lingyang will need to use all the experience and data it has to fight against other business intelligence giants like Salesforce, Oracle, SAP and Microsoft.

Alibaba Vice Chairman Peng Xinyu will lead Linyang’s operations as CEO. It is clear that Xinyu Linyang wants to be “DaaS, not SaaS”. In other words, he wants to position data intelligence to unlock maximum value for enterprises.
